“Words from the Several States: The Movement part 007

I watched “Frost/Nixon” the other night and this morning, you guessed it, I was watching C-span . . . No please don't run, it will be okay. It is only when I write after C-span viewing that I feel one with the political forces brewing and bubbling through out D.C.

President Nixon was a smart politician who knew how to grab up power in Washington. He was also a man who deeply understood foreign affairs and where the world was headed.

Nixon could make a decision and stand by it, no matter what the fallout.

So when he saw that there were enough votes in the House to impeach him, Nixon knew it was time to resign.

All his brilliance, all his good political instincts, and at the end he was a small man, devoured by his own pettiness and bittered desire to destroy enemies inside the beltway.

A disparate man, who led an entire generation to believe that all of government was corrupt and indecent.

A legacy that continues today, in both major parties, on a scale so large, it threatens the very infrastructure of our Constitution.

So what does all that have to do with early Sunday morning C-span?

They had a journalist on who has written an in-depth book on Pakistan, which has nothing to do with Nixon, but everything to do with Light bulbs.

Huh?

Come on guys hang in there, this is not to far fetched.

I don't mean to tease, my illustration is that of a complex world, where the U.S. President who governs the least and leads the most, usually will succeed more, than if the inverse were true.

Nixon did best when he led the world through foreign policy, instead if allowing his chief of staff to hire burglars.

The journalist who was interviewed for his book on Pakistan properly conveyed the multi-layered realities and complexities. I doubt if anyone, besides a true expert, could understand what we should be doing towards Pakistan. Though I salute any President who takes a leadership role and does not assign it to a flunky.

And light bulbs? Yeah . . . thats another painful story. Pull up a chair.

Two days ago a host of federal regulations, designed to help us all with energy consumption, were high-lighted by the President in the Cap and Trade legislation, that passed the House.

Cap and Trade will now go to the Senate where with our activism, will get defeated.

Lets break it down:

  • All industries will be taxed on the front end, for their level of carbon emissions. The logic being it will force industries to adopt standard to cut back on carbon emissions. Truth be known, those additional costs on the front end, will be passed on to you and I, through higher energy rates, as consumers. You and I will pay $3000 to $4000 more, per household, under Cap and Trade.

  • This will force multi-national corporations to send jobs over seas, where there are no cap and trade regulations. You see, America already has the highest pollution standards and someone ought to tell our Harvard Lawyer president as much.

  • You will NOT be able to sell your home, until federal regulators come in and make sure it is up to their codes on energy efficiency. This will put housing sales in the toilet, again!

  • You will be told to replace your current light bulbs with the new ones that President Obama demands you get all excited over.

  • In straight dollars, Cap and trade is the single largest tax increase in American history.

These are the facts, I cannot sugar coat or make this stuff up. It is horrifying, job destroying and will make us more dependent on foreign oil to boot.

The number remains the same to the U.S. Congress main switch board, 202.224.3121.

The executive branch and legislative branch of the federal government telling me what kind of light bulbs to use. Could someone please copy/paste the specific section of the Constitution, that allows this and send it to me.

Okay, Mr. President, members of Congress listen, read and absorb this next section very carefully:

I will NOT use the light bulbs you insist on, nor will I adhere to any cap and trade regulations regarding my home. This legislation is a direct violation of the 10th amendment and quite possibly the 14th as well.

Federal carbon emissions regulators will not be allowed on my property and I will have country sheriff's deputies arrest any federal employee who peeks in my door, trying to scope out my light bulb situation.

Have I made myself clear?

My phrase “Sprinting Socialism” becomes reality, as Obama n crew try to ram as much legislation through the congress as possible, before his numbers fall in the polls.

Final thought . . . there are many people who will say “But Chris, this isn't real socialism, Obama just wants us to save energy.”

Wake up! This is the federal government taking over more and more and more, it is socialism and control over your household. This is the same concept as Russians standing in four hour bread and cheese lines. Many have trouble making the connection because they don't think it can ever come to that.

Carbon Dioxide is not even classified as a pollutant, it is an innocuous gas. In the last 150 years of industrialization, mankind has seen carbon dioxide increase from 3./100 of 1% of the atmosphere, to 3.84/100 of 1%. In other words an increase so small of “other trace elements” that you need an advanced technology society to even measure it. Now that is the real science.

Cap and Trade will double energy costs for the lower and middle classes., and you will be subject to even more federal regulations.

If Cap and trade passes, I personally will be able to afford to keep my home.

This is the problem with Liberal elitists, they think the private sector has an endless supply of extra money, to pay an endless increase of taxes.

Mr. President, one more time for the record, you cannot tax a society into growth.
